The Research and Education Foundation (REF) had created a “Coffee & Conversations” educational series designed to stimulate meaningful conversations about rheumatoid arthritis from the viewpoint of patients and families, while also sharing exciting research sponsored by REF’s funding. These sessions were held as informal events in various communities throughout the country. They became so popular that REF needed a way to quickly and effectively share the information with a national audience.
Grafx recommended a series of Coffee & Conversations-themed infographics that would communicate complex information in a simple, interesting way. Through the infographics, research data, patient statistics, and scientific processes could be read and understood quickly by patients, families, doctors and researchers alike. At the same time, the design of the infographics would hold true to the Coffee & Conversations original tone of small, casual gatherings where ideas are shared.
Grafx not only created visually compelling infographics, they went one step further, making parts of the infographics interactive with rollovers and links that allow the reader to access more information through pop-ups, videos, websites and online publications.
Since the Coffee & Conversations infographics launched on the Foundation’s website http://www.rheumatology.org/ref/patients/virtual-coffee.asp, REF has seen a significant increase in the number of new participants in the program, as well as an increase in the number of participants who return for all five sessions.
